These rules apply to writing haiku:
- * There are no more than 17 syllables
- * Haiku is composed of only 3 lines
- * Typically, every first line of Haiku has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables, and the third has 5 syllables
- Submit your haiku via this FORM on GoogleDrive. Each entry will be linked to the writer’s email address and the winner will be contacted via that address.
- I wish I didn’t have to add this but any submission I consider using obscene, hurtful, or otherwise offensive language will not be included.
- The last day to submit your haiku is August 11th, when a GoogleDoc link will be posted on Yo Momma's Apron Strings social media accounts so all can join in the fun of reading the entries and casting their vote. The identity of each composer will be kept private and only the winning composer’s name will be revealed.
Words are such fun to play with and I hope you are inspired by an apron - your own, dad’s or grandma’s, your favorite lunch lady's ..…
