Once upon a time I began a blog. Over time it became quite neglected, so much so that the last entry I made was over a year and a half ago.  I've decided to make a change and try it again because as much as I like to sew - which is very, very much - I also like playing with words and a blog is a good place to do this.

Thanks to a post by a fellow vendor I discovered that a local newspaper included me (me, as in Yo Momma's Apron Strings) as one of '10 gifts, from Maine and from away, for foodie friends and family '. It's one of those gee-whiz moments for me as this is the first time I've seen my business mentioned in the press and (luckily) with such kind words.  And one of the beauties of this article is the fact that also mentioned with me is Gryffon Ridge Spice Merchants, a fellow Brunswick Winter Market vendor! Christine is a one-woman dynamo selling her spices and blends all over the country. She exhausts this other one-woman business owner with the pace of her business life. I quietly inhabit my sewing room cutting, ironing and sewing and she is off and running every day, all day long. There's a reason her spices can be found all over the country.....

So ends my first posting of my new blog life. Next week look for my official entry in  Giveaway Day a huge, biannual event where everyone with a shop or blog can give something away. Fellow blogging vendors take note!

    This is me-ish.

Living on five acres of Maine woodland provides the perfect setting for my home-grown business of creating and selling my vintage-inspired aprons. It is quiet here and being a half hour from everywhere makes it is easy to step up the pace of things when I head out to market and festivals to sell my aprons. From peace and quiet to social interaction - a perfect balance to keep me charged and engaged with the world around me.
